Iced Teas
Iced Tea by the jug. Pour 2 cups of very hot water over 4 teaspoons of loose tea (strained as desired).* Steep 3 minutes then remove. If desired, stir in your favourite sweetener while the tea is hot. Add 2 cups of cold water and chill.

* Green tea is brewed differently from black tea because its fresh green leaf makes a slightly astringent tea. With cooler water and shorter brewing time, you get more delicate flavour from the unfermented leaf. Summer is just around the corner bringing with it thoughts of thirst quenching beverages.

E-teas range will quench your thirst and promise to deliver a treat to your taste buds!

Ice Tea was discovered in 1905 at the World's Fair in St Louis, Missouri by Richard Blechynden. His concession was not doing well which prompted this quick thinking Englishman to add ice to create what has since become a North American favourite! Although any hot tea can be poured over ice, some teas are natural for the process. General speaking, full-bodied teas (with the flavour more on the mouth) make a better glass of iced tea than do aromatic teas.

E-teas provides two specific ice teas, although any tea from the black category work well as a classic iced tea. Green tea is also delicious iced and is rapidly gaining recognition. Be creative and try your own ideas too, you may be surprised with the results! Brewed Iced Tea is more than 99% WATER. Mineral content, chlorine, and water hardness all affect both the clarity and taste of brewed ice tea.

Place 1-2 tablespoons of whole tea leaves in a vessel suited for hot water, add near-boiling water, steep 3 minutes for black and 4 minutes green - use a timer and strain immediately to avoid bitterness - and 10 minutes for herbal blends to bring to full flavour. Stir, strain the infusion, add the same amount of cool water, and place blended tea in dispenser.

If your chilled glass of iced tea clouds, try slicing up some citrus fruit this will also make a great garnish. Lemons, limes, oranges and even grapefruit are high in acid and will help balance the pH levels. If tea clouds immediately following brewing, lower brewing temperature of the water.
